Red Lentil Hummus

This simple hummus recipe replaces chickpeas with red lentils for a unique taste that is both flavorful and low on calories.

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup tahini
  • Juice from 1 large lemon
  • 1.5 cups red lentils cooked
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 3 Tbsp. olive oil
  • ½ tsp. coconut aminos or soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. nutritional yeast
  • ½ tsp. cumin
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 1 –5 Tbsp. water
  • Dash of paprika

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients to food processor or blender and begin to mix. Add water 1 Tbsp. at a time until a smooth consistency is produced. Garnish with paprika and serve.
