I first learned about White Russians from watching The Big Lebowski. In that film, the protagonist known as “The Dude” drank maybe 20 of these rich cocktails from the opening credits to the closing scene. After trying the drink, it became a favorite of mine, too. But when I turned vegan I gave up on having them—after all, one of the primary ingredients is cream…
In recent months I started revisiting the White Russian, using Silk’s Soy Creamer product in place of the cream. It’s not bad, but I wanted to get a little more decadent and turn the drink into more of a dessert. That’s where ice cream comes in!
Nothing beats a tasty after-dinner dessert cocktail except maybe ice cream. This recipe combines the two for a heavenly experience of boozy, sugary delight. It’s almost like a root beer float for grown-ups.
The recipe couldn’t be simpler, so give it a try and let me know what you think. Hit me up on social media and show me some photos of your creations! I’m @nutfreevegan everywhere.
