Matcha Shamrock Shake

Jump to Recipe Pin Recipe Print Recipe

If you’re a regular reader of this site, you know that I’m a big ice cream fan. I love it inside ice cream sandwiches, in a bowl with some awesome toppings and especially in a good milkshake. Since I haven’t had time to get to the gym as much lately, it’s kind of a no-no for me right now, but that went out the window when I was trying to think of some good St. Patrick’s Day recipes. I came up with a few things—some of which might still end up on the site this week or next—and landed on this one, an awesome dessert after your shepherd’s pie.

I’m sure many of you, even if you’re vegan, have been to McDonald’s at least once in your life. And if not, its inescapable advertising has at least made you aware of its offerings, including the Shamrock Shake, which it offers this time of year. So I put together what I’m sure is a healthier (and definitely cruelty-free) version for today’s post.

Delicious McDonalds Shamrock Shake Matcha Vegan Nutfreevegan

This Shamrock Shake gets its green color from matcha powder, the delicious green tea that everybody is so fond of lately. That means it gives you a little energy boost, too, which is nice after a hearty Irish dinner. I kept it simple with some So Delicious soy-based ice cream, but you can make your own if you prefer to put a little more work into it—there are plenty of recipes out there.

This recipe is incredibly easy to make, and I think you’ll love it. So give it a shot and let me know how it goes in the comments section. And if you like it, please help me out by sharing it via the social media buttons below.

Hi there! 👋 It’s been quite a while since I’ve posted. Turns out training for a marathon takes just about all of your effort. Who knew? But I’m back now with what I hope will be the first of consistent weekly recipes (at least until the next marathon 😂).

This one is for Baked Tofu and Baby Bok Choy. It’s SUPER simple and takes very little effort. Plus it’s totally versatile too; you can serve it with rice, with noodles, or even in a soup—whatever you’re feeling on the day.

I used @nasoya’s extra firm tofu here because it’s non-GMO Project verified, USDA organic, cholesterol-free, gluten-free, and preservative-free. All the things I look for when buying products these days.

I’m so happy to be back sharing recipes and can’t wait to pit a few more out there in the upcoming weeks!

Yes it’s 60 degrees in New Jersey in December 😬. But that’s still comfort food weather to me, and nothing fits the bill better than this Beefless Beef Stew with @gardein Beefless Tips—a long-time reader favorite on the NFV website. It’s hearty and totally delicious. Grab the recipe link in my profile and enjoy!
We have a wonderful ramen restaurant here in our t We have a wonderful ramen restaurant here in our town of Montclair. They offer a vegan version they is out of this world. But whenever we order from them Laura and I are equally, of not more, excited about the edamame they serve: it’s tossed in chili oil and charred. So amazing. Of course I had to take a shot at recreating it for the site and this Chili-Charred Edamame recipe was born. It’s great as either an appetizer or a snack! Check out the recipe at the link in my profile.
